The EVH® 5150® Iconic® Series caters to the needs of gigging and recording guitarists seeking that powerful EVH tube tone at a more accessible price point. Evolving from the renowned EVH 5150III® amplifiers, it offers the scorching sound and growling gain that Eddie Van Halen made famous throughout his legendary career.
Designed by renowned amp engineer James Brown, the 5150® Iconic® Series 80W Head is powered by four 6L6 power tubes, featuring a complex multi-stage hybrid preamp section anchored by a pair of ECC83 tubes, providing all the firepower modern guitarists need in a user-friendly format.
This head features two channels with additional voicing for increased versatility. The Green channel includes an overdrive button that transitions from lush clean tones to enhanced gain, while the Red channel's burn button adds fiery crunch, ideal for blistering leads.
Each channel is equipped with its own gain and volume controls, allowing for level-matching when switching between clean and high-gain settings. Additionally, the channel two noise gate features a quick attack that suppresses unwanted hiss while ensuring that all staccato riffing is articulate and crisp. The Boost control lets you augment your output by another 10dB for solos that cut through the mix effortlessly.
